We have some exciting news to share with you. As part of our promise to the environment, Ovo Energy has partnered with a rainforest protection charity called Cool Earth as of Wednesday 8 September 2010. We’re committed to protecting one acre of rainforest from deforestation for each and every Ovo customer.
As an existing Ovo customer, we’ve protected an acre of rainforest on your behalf. The average household emits around 4.5 tonnes of CO2 per year. Together we’re currently protecting an area of endangered rainforest the size of Manchester, preventing the release of nearly 8 million tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere. That’s around the same amount of CO2 that would be saved by putting solar panels on every household in Britain. This means that you – and more than 30,000 other Ovo customers – are doing your bit to fight global climate change without having to do anything.
Ovo and Cool Earth would like to thank you for your support. As a gift, we will be sending you an official certificate that endorses the acre protected in your name. You should be receiving this within the next week or so.
Don’t forget to tell your friends and family about Ovo. Every time a new customer switches to Ovo we’ll protect another acre of rainforest on their behalf.

Just browsing around the site and found this. we are in our second year as an OVO customer but never received the promised certificate. This is a very cool thing that you are doing as well as being a competitively priced company. keep it up – any chance of a certificate at this late stage?

Of course! Every Ovo customer has their own certificate for their acre of the rainforest. All you need to do is log into My Ovo, and then visit the Cool Earth section – you can download your personalised certificate there. Thanks!
