Cool Earth is about 3 things.

Our planet can only be kept cool if the rainforests are left standing. Lose them and the environment will never be the same. Cool Earth works with local communities in the Amazonian rainforest to protect it from being cut down for timber or burnt to make way for crops, cattle and roads.

With the help of its supporters, Cool Earth is committed to:

• Only protecting rainforest that is in imminent danger and without their intervention would be cleared.
• Protecting rainforest that forms a protective blockade for tens of thousands of acres of adjacent forest.
• Working with local communities to make sure that they are best placed to protect the rainforest.
• Making sure the money that individual sponsors give them goes directly to the rainforest (Cool Earth spend less than 10% of supporters' money on administration).
• Protecting areas with high levels of biodiversity which store at least 260 tonnes of CO₂ per acre.

Ovo makes it easy for customers to do their bit for the environment by protecting an acre of rainforest on behalf of each customer, but it doesn't have to stop there. Find out more about Cool Earth at www.coolearth.org.
