Our customers are all doing their bit for climate change, without actually having to do anything.

Every time a new customer joins Ovo, an
acre of rainforest will be protected from
destruction. So far we've protected 70,000
acres of rainforest (larger than the size of
Manchester) and prevented 18.2 million
tonnes of CO2 from being released into the atmosphere. Each new customer that joins us will have an acre protected on their behalf and will receive a certificate confirming it.

Each acre is located in the Amazon jungle in Peru. This region is home to many indigenous communities, known as the Ashaninka. Their ancestors have lived in the rainforest for thousands of years and they too are dependent on the forest for their livelihoods. So protecting it, is helping to safeguard livelihoods. Of course the rainforest is also teeming with wildlife in each acre including around 6 endangered species, 44 mature trees and around 11,000 species of insect and worm.

Did you know?

In the next 24 hours deforestation will release as much CO2 into the atmospheere as 8 million people flying from London to New York
