How switching works
Switching made easy.
We know the prospect of switching can be daunting, so like all things at Ovo we’ve made it super simple. Here’s how it works.
Join Ovo online or give one of our lovely UK customer care team members a call on
0800 5999 440.
Once you’ve signed up, you’ll receive a confirmation by email. We’ll get in touch with your current supplier and tell them that you’re switching, so there’s no need for you to contact them. This will happen without any disruption to your supply and can take 4-6 weeks.
Later, we’ll ask you for a meter reading. When we do, simply give it to us by clicking here or calling 0800 5999 440 (you can also call this number if you have problems or need help taking a reading). This will enable us to calculate your bills accurately from the word go.
When you register with Ovo we take your bank details straight away, so you don’t have to worry about giving this to us later. Your Direct Debit payment will be taken out right before you go on supply with Ovo. We know everyone gets paid at different times, so we offer two dates to choose from, either the 1st or the 15th of each month. You can change these at any time by calling 0800 5999 440.
