Stephen Fitzpatrick, founder of Ovo Energy, takes up the story: “I set up Ovo Energy because I was fed up dealing with large energy companies with complicated, confusing tariffs and poor service. I was convinced there had to be a better way. My background was outside the energy industry so I had a fresh perspective and was always looking at the business from a customer’s point of view. Over the last two years I’ve certainly had to learn a huge amount about the industry but I don’t think we have ever lost sight of the initial vision – straightforward easy to understand tariffs, a commitment to treating customers fairly and making renewable energy more affordable to everyone.”
