Energy – it’s been in the news a little recently. So what’s all the fuss about?
For us it comes down to getting a better, fairer deal for your energy. Something the majority of people are missing out on because they've been stuck with the same supplier for years.
We've been going for six years and have almost half a million happy customers. Here's what we bring to the table:
Transparent pricing, 3% rewards and no exit fees
We keep a beady eye on wholesale electricity and gas prices, buy smart and pass on the savings to you through our energy plans. This (and keeping our running costs as low as possible), is how you get the right mix of cheaper, greener energy. You can find out more about it here.
We also give you our 3% OVO Interest Reward* on credit in your account. What's more, there are no exit fees for our plans.
We're making greener easier
As of April 2015, all our energy plans are at least 33% renewable power and our Greener plan goes the full 100%. You can find out about our Greener plan here.
We’re also passionate about giving young people across the world a brighter future. Through OVO Foundation we support inspiring organisations with smart ideas, launch pioneering projects and volunteer for 1,000s of hours each year in our local communities.
Every OVO customer has the opportunity to support the Foundation and when OVO customers make a monthly donation, we match that amount - doubling our power to create positive change.

Big service not big profits
No matter which plan you're on, we'll always put you first. You can pick from speedy online account management through My OVO, 24/7 or, if you're on our Better, Simpler or Greener Energy plans, our top-notch, Bristol-based customer service team. They're a lovely bunch - and no question, problem or request is ever too big, or too small.
Energy's been a little starved of innovation. That's why this year we turned the Pay as You Go market on its head with the launch of PAYG+. Goodbye to the meter key and top up trips at the corner shop, hello to managing your energy on your smartphone from the comfort of your sofa or on the go.

Only 11% of people switched last year: 11% of people in the UK switched energy supplier in 2014 - Quarterly Domestic Energy Switching Statistics (QEP 2.7.1) (Department of Energy and Climate Change, 18/12/14) According to the Competition and Markets Authority (here), between 50-90% of UK households are on a 'Big Six' Standard Variable Tariffs (SVT).
As of 09/06/15, these customers could save on average £225 per year by switching to OVO's Better Energy Tariff. This may go up or down. Figure based on the estimated annual cost of OVO's 12-month fixed Better Energy tariff for a dual fuel, medium user (3,200 kWh electricity and 13,500 kWh gas), paying in advance by direct debit and including the online discount.
Comparisons made against the average of the Big Six's SVT rates for customers paying through direct debit - cheaper tariffs may be available. The 'Big Six' are British Gas, Npower, E.On, EDF, Scottish Power and SSE.
