If your gas card or electricity key doesn’t have our OVO logo on it, you’re probably still using your old supplier’s card or key. This means you’re on the wrong rates, and you may have been paying more than you need.
To start paying the right OVO rates, you need to pick up a new key and/or card. Just call us on 0800 358 3523 to request a new key or card (or both). We’re here 8am - 8pm Monday - Thursday, 8am - 5pm on Fridays or 9am - 5pm on Saturdays).
If you need a new electricity key
As soon as you start topping up with your new key, you’ll be paying the correct OVO rates.
If you need a new gas card
When you telephone us on 0800 358 3523, we’ll give you an 8-digit ‘TAG’ code, which you need to take to a PayPoint outlet. This code allows the PayPoint assistant to programme a new card with our OVO rates.
Make sure you use up all the credit on your old gas card before you start using your new one.
You also need to register your new card by inserting it into your gas meter and leaving it there for at least a minute. Find out more here. Once you’ve registered your card, you can start topping up at our OVO rates.
If I’ve overpaid because of using the wrong key or card, can I get a refund?
If you’ve definitely paid too much, we’ll help you to get a refund of the amount you’ve overpaid. Just call us on 0800 358 3523 and we’ll get started.
