Winter is coming; Boost’s new Winter Wallet, helps customers prepare for winter months AND dishes out a bonus for savers
London, 22nd August 2018 - Boost, the UK’s first truly smart prepayment platform, today announces a new and innovative feature to help customers save up and prepare for the winter months. Through Boost’s Winter Wallet, customers will have the ability to pay into a savings pot for the winter months and will receive a 5% reward if they reach their target.
Boost is a dedicated prepayment energy brand, which removes the need for inconvenient card or key top-up systems, and instead lets customers add credit through a smartphone app linked to a smart meter.
The Winter Wallet works by allowing customers to set up a savings pot that can be added to every time they top up. Over the summer months, when energy usage is less, customers can add money to the savings pot to help even out the amount they pay over the year. Customers can set a savings target which if met by 8th November will give them an energy credit worth 5% of their target as a bonus. This means if a customer’s target was £100 they would get an additional £5 added to their Winter Wallet regardless of when they had signed up.
The launch of Winter Wallet strengthens Boost’s ambition to help PAYG customers to save over warmer months, and give them the same advantage as energy consumers on a fixed direct debit, which takes into account fluctuations across the seasons.

The Boost app also gives PAYG customers greater control over their energy usage through smart meters, as customers can easily track energy usage and spending, and set up top ups to make their lives easier and reduce energy expenses. Currently 70% of Boost PAYG customers are reaping the benefits by having a smart meter installed.
