OVO comments on Prime Minister’s 10 Point Plan

OVO’s CEO of Energy Retail Adrian Letts comments on Boris Johnson’s Ten Point Plan for a Green Industrial Revolution.

“Today’s announcement is a really positive step forward. We’ve been missing this kind of focus in energy policy for many years now and we sincerely hope the Government will back up the Prime Minister’s words with action.

“For example, there are some big bets on new energy technologies but what we really need is faster deployment of what we already have and smarter ways to integrate them into people’s homes. Regulation needs to change urgently to make this happen.

“Finally we need to think deeply about who pays for the transition. The cost continues to fall disportionately on the most vulnerable in society through their energy bills and we need to address that before the public loses faith.”
