London, 28 February 2018 - OVO Group, the parent company of the UK’s largest independent energy supplier OVO Energy, today announced two senior appointments to strengthen its energy technology products division. Dr Kotub Uddin joins as Head of Energy Storage Research while Yoann Martin has been appointed as Head of Engineering.
Prior to joining OVO, Dr Uddin was a Senior Research Fellow at Warwick University. His research specialised in the application of energy storage technologies for low carbon transport and power-grid decarbonisation. Dr Uddin joins OVO to lead the electrochemical energy storage strategy and guide the development of smart control of energy storage devices.
Yoann Martin joins as Head of Engineering for VNet. Previously he led technology teams at Not On The High Street, NET-A-PORTER and Lastminute.com, and successfully helped pureplay digital organisations scale and mature their technology and engineering teams through periods of high growth.
Both appointments come at an important moment in OVO’s journey as it continues to accelerate its evolution from a top-rated, pure play energy retailer into an integrated energy services provider.
