If you’ve signed up for one of our Pay As You Go (PAYG) services, read our online PAYG guide.
It takes around four weeks from when you switch until we start supplying your energy. Your contract summary shows your supply start date.
Most people use more gas and electricity in the winter than in the summer, so we set your Direct Debit at a level that will cover your average energy over 12 months. During the year, your account may sometimes be in credit, because you’ve paid for more energy than you’ve used. Or in debit, when you use more energy than you’ve paid for.
As you pay for your energy in advance by Direct Debit, your account will sometimes be in credit. When that happens, we’ll give you our 3% OVO Interest Reward on any money left in your OVO account after you’ve paid your bill.
We’ll check your Direct Debit regularly. If it doesn’t seem to match the amount of energy you’re using, we’ll let you know we need to increase or reduce your monthly payment.
OVO Foundation is a registered charity working to make a real difference to people’s lives. We focus on energy and the environment, youth poverty, and education. We also run OVO Gives Back, which supports four local Bristol & London charities through volunteering and grants. You can help us by adding a donation to your OVO bill each month.
