1.1. This document explains how 2 Year Fix and Protect is provided to you. Words and phrases which have a special meaning are explained where the word or phrase is first used. 

1.2. 2 Year Fix and Protect is comprised of a 2 year fixed term OVO energy tariff (2 Year Fix and Protect Energy Supply) and OVO HomePlan Essentials cover a 12 month insurance policy at a discounted price, inclusive of an annual boiler service (OVO HomePlan Essentials cover).

Your 2 Year Fix and Protect Energy Supply and your OVO HomePlan Essentials cover are separate agreements.

2.1. Your 2 Year Fix and Protect Energy Supply is provided by OVO Electricity Limited (when we’re selling you electricity) and OVO Gas Limited (when we’re selling you gas). Our address is 1 Rivergate, Temple Quay, Bristol BS1 6ED. These are the companies that supply energy to your property.

2.2 Your OVO HomePlan Essentials cover is issued by OVO Energy Ltd, trading as OVO HomePlan,  an appointed representative of CORGI HomePlan Ltd (for general insurance distribution) which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. OVO Energy Ltd's Firm Reference Number is 822754. CORGI HomePlan Ltd's Firm Reference Number is 824122. OVO Energy Ltd is registered in England and Wales, company number 06890795. Registered office:1 Rivergate, Temple Quay, Bristol, BS1 6ED.

The insurance policy is underwritten by OVO Insurance Services Ltd, a firm authorised and regulated by the Guernsey Financial Services Commission under reference number 2570126. OVO Insurance Services Ltd is registered in the Bailiwick of Guernsey under the Companies (Guernsey) Law 2008 (Company No. 67013). Registered office: PO Box 155, Mill Court, La Charroterie, St Peter Port, Guernsey, GY1 4ET.

CORGI HomePlan Ltd, OVO Energy Ltd and OVO Insurance Services Ltd are part of OVO Group Ltd.


  1. Terms and Conditions 

3.1. 2 Year Fix and Protect Energy Supply - The 2 Year Fix and Protect Energy Supply is provided under this document and OVO’s Core Terms and Conditions for the Supply of Electricity and/or Gas to Domestic Customers. 

3.2. OVO HomePlan Essentials cover - Your OVO HomePlan Essentials cover is governed by your OVO HomePlan Policy Booklet


  1. About OVO HomePlan Essentials cover

4.1 You will be required to make a separate application for the discounted OVO HomePlan Essentials cover, this will take place after you have applied for your 2 Year Fix and Protect Energy Supply. It is your responsibility to complete the follow-on application for the OVO HomePlan Essentials cover. Your OVO HomePlan Essentials cover application will not be processed until this is done. Once you have completed this application, and you have been accepted, we will send you the terms and conditions of your OVO HomePlan Essentials cover policy. If you do not complete the separate application for OVO HomePlan Essentials cover, you will not be charged for it, however it means that you will not benefit from the policy and 2 Year Fix and Protect may not be the best energy tariff for you.

If you do not complete this application within 30 calendar days of your energy contract start date, you will not be eligible to receive the discounted OVO HomePlan Essentials cover.

4.2. 2 Year Fix and Protect includes OVO HomePlan Essentials cover, a 12 month contract at a discounted price. You will be unable to make a claim on your OVO HomePlan Essentials cover for the first 30 days from the start date of your OVO HomePlan Essentials cover. Further information on this is detailed in your OVO HomePlan Policy Booklet.

4.3. Excesses apply to OVO HomePlan Essentials cover and this is the amount you need to pay towards each completed repair. A £60 excess will be charged per breakdown. Further information on this, and information about what is and is not included in your OVO HomePlan Essentials cover, can be found in the OVO HomePlan Policy Booklet.


  1. About your 2 Year Fix and Protect Energy Supply 

5.1. Our prices for the supply of your electricity and/or gas will be fixed for a period of 24 months commencing on your Tariff Start Date. Your Energy Tariff Start Date will be the date your electricity and/or gas supply(ies) switches to OVO 2 Year Fix and Protect  from your existing OVO energy tariff.

5.2. Where both your electricity and gas supplies are being switched, then the Energy Tariff Start Date will be the earlier of the two transfer dates. This may mean you will not receive the full 12 month fixed term on the later transferred electricity or gas.


  1. Eligibility requirements

6.1. In order to be eligible for 2 Year Fix and Protect:

  1. Both the 2 Year Fix and Protect Energy Supply and the OVO HomePlan Essentials cover will need to be in the name(s) of the same account holder(s) and for the same address;
  2. You must be an existing OVO energy customer;
  3. You must take a Dual Fuel or Gas only Energy Supply and pay for your 2 Year Fix and Protect Energy Supply and OVO HomePlan Essentials cover  by Monthly Direct Debit. 
  4. OVO HomePlan Essentials eligibility criteria includes boiler condition, age, make and model, mains gas boilers only. Cover is not available to landlords or tenants. You must own and live in the home. We cover the majority of mainland UK, some remote areas (e.g. parts of the Scottish Highlands) may not be covered. Eligibility will be determined during your application. If you are not eligible, no cash alternative applies.

6.2. If you currently have any previous OVO HomePlan product,  you will still be eligible to sign up to 2 Year Fix and Protect, however you may need to pay a termination fee to end your existing contract prior to signing up, please check your policy and/or tariff information. Termination fees may also apply if you are on an alternative tariff, please check your policy and/or tariff information. 

6.3. If you have a Pay As You Go meter installed in your property then you will not be eligible for the  2 Year Fix and Protect tariff.


  1. Smart meter

By signing up to 2 Year Fix and Protect  you are agreeing to be contacted to arrange a suitable

installation date for a Smart Meter to be installed in your property, if you do not already have one.


  1. Payment

Separate Direct Debit instructions will be set up for your gas and electricity tariffs, and your

OVO HomePlan Essentials cover policy.  

The direct debit details supplied will be used to renew the OVO HomePlan Essentials cover at the expiry of the 12 month term unless you have opted out of auto renew, or chosen to cancel.


  1. Expiry of your contract 

9.1. Your 2 Year Fix and Protect Energy Supply contract will end:

  1. 24 months after your Energy Tariff Start Date (Fixed Energy Supply End Date); or
  2. immediately when you move home, change to a Pay As You Go meter, change your tariff or change supplier; or
  3. otherwise in accordance with our General Terms and Conditions for the Supply of Electricity and/or Gas to Domestic Customers.

9.2. At the end of your 2 Year Fix and Protect Energy Supply tariff, your energy supply will switch to our Standard variable tariff available for your meter type and payment method. We will write to you no later than 30 days before the Fixed Energy Supply End Date to remind you of this and advise you of our cheapest tariff at this time based on your estimated annual consumption and your chosen payment method. 

9.3. We will write to you at least fourteen (14) days before your OVO HomePlan Essentials cover contract is due for renewal. You will be offered the same discount for another 12 months. Your OVO HomePlan Essentials cover product will renew automatically, unless you have opted out of auto renewal, and premiums will be collected using the Direct Debit details that you give us when buying this tariff.


  1. Cancellation

10.1. If you want to cancel your 2 Year Fix and Protect Energy Supply or switch

You can switch to another energy supplier without giving us any notice, however we reserve the right to apply an exit fee of £30 per fuel. This exit fee will not be applied if we have contacted you no later than 30 days before the Fixed Energy Supply End Date as referenced in paragraph 9.2 above. If you cancel the 2 Year Fix and Protect Energy Supply tariff, your OVO HomePlan Essentials cover will still continue

10.2. If you want to cancel your OVO HomePlan Essentials cover 

If you want to cancel the OVO HomePlan Essentials cover for any reason, then this must be done separately by contacting our OVO HomePlan contact centre. Cancellation charges may apply, details can be found in your OVO HomePlan Policy Booklet. 


  1. Moving home

If you move home you are unable to transfer this 2 Year Fix and Protect  product, including the OVO HomePlan Essentials cover to your new property.  Cancellation charges may apply, details can be found in your OVO HomePlan Policy Booklet. If we supply the property, you will be put on our standard default tariff available for your meter type and payment method until you select a new tariff or supplier. 

If we do not supply your new property then you will be on whichever tariff the supplier of that property has in place.


  1. Other information

12.1. OVO HomePlan Essentials cover and 2 Year Fix and Protect Energy Supply are available separately (but not at a discounted rate).


12.2 This tariff is subject to availability. We reserve the right to refuse or withdraw the tariff at any time.
