No, you don’t need to be with us to take out our EV charger insurance. And it doesn’t matter if we didn’t install your charger for you.
We cover all AC EV chargers with an output of up to 22kW.
You can start making claims 30 days after your policy start date.
Yes, but you might need to pay a cancellation fee. To find out more, check our terms and conditions.
This all depends on which plan you picked, so check your policy documents.
If you chose our plan without a £30 fixed excess charge, then you won’t pay any excess.
If you’ve chosen the plan with a fixed £30 excess fee, then you’ll be charged £30 for each call-out. If the engineer has to make a second visit to fix the same problem (within 30 days of the first visit), you won’t need to pay the call-out charge again.

To get the Charge Anytime add-on, you’ll need to have a compatible electric vehicle and/or EV charger, a smart meter, and to download our app. You’ll also need to agree to your smart meter sharing half-hourly readings with us. For full details of compatible chargers and EVs please see our Charge Anytime terms and conditions.
If you need your car in a hurry, you can override your smart charging schedule with the Charge Now function. You'll be charged at your standard home electricity rate when you're not smart charging.
