Get your promo code
Find your promo code in the Volvo Cars app, or in an email if you’ve recently switched to OVO. Use it to claim your miles when you add Charge Anytime pay as you go.

Connect your accounts
Open your Volvo Cars app and follow the instructions to connect your OVO account.

Start smart charging
Schedule your smart charge directly in your Volvo Cars app. We'll work out the greenest time to charge within the hours you've set.3

Get credit in your account
We'll add Charge Anytime credit into your OVO account every month to reflect the 7p per kWh rate. Plus you'll get £50 credit in the first month to cover your free miles.

Charge Anytime
You’ll need to be a new Charge Anytime customer and have an eligible Volvo EV: a fully electric XC40 Recharge, C40 Recharge, EX40, EC40; a 2022+ plug-in-hybrid XC60, S90, V90; or a 2023+ plug-in hybrid XC90, S60, V60.
A smart meter
You'll need a smart meter set to send half-hourly readings. Don't have one? We can install one at no extra cost.

If you'd like to override your smart charging schedule to top up quickly, you'll be charged at your standard home energy electricity rate. The next time you charge, you’ll automatically go back to your smart charging schedule.
2 OVO is offering up to 2,700 free Charge Anytime miles through £50 credit for Volvo customers who add Charge Anytime Pay as you go to their plan. This offer is available to new and existing OVO customers who don't already have Charge Anytime. 2,700 free miles is based on a Volvo EC40 Single Motor Extended Range driving 3.8 miles per kWh, which equates to 714 free kWhs (actual sum: 2,714 miles based on WLTP). The Exclusive Partner Charge Anytime rate is 7p per kWh when smart charging, which works out at £50 free credit. Actual mileage received will vary depending on your EV model, your driving style, and other external factors. 3 Actual sum is £599. When you add Charge Anytime to your plan, your home energy rate will stay the same, but the energy consumed by your EV will be charged at an effective rate of 7p per kWh when EV smart charging (thanks to payment of your Charge Anytime Partner Rate charging credits).
The £599 saving is based on an average Charge Anytime customer using 3100kWh a year to charge their EV using the Charge Anytime add on. The Exclusive Partner Charge Anytime rate on 04/11/2025 is 7p per kWh for smart charging compared to the OVO’s UK average SVT rate of 26.34p per kWh. Actual savings will vary depending on vehicle efficiency, driving style, EV charging usage and the cost per kWh of your standard home energy tariff.
4 Our smart tech aims to charge your car when the grid has more renewable energy in it, within the time you’ve set. Meaning it’s less likely your EV will be charged by energy from fossil fuels.
