OVO are a good Company.

I Have found OVO to be a very good company, I have had no problems with them at all and only the other day I had a phone call from their Customer Service, to thank me for sending a photograph of my gas meter to them as requested, and asked me if I was happy and could they give me any advise or help in any way, I would recommend them to any one looking for a good Company.

My mothers account

I needed to speak to someone about my Mothers account, as her Power of Attorney. Your lines were busy and I was in a queue, I was offered the chance to hold my place in the queue and be called back. I was impressed with how slick this service was. When I was called back your representative was very polite and helpful. We agreed a payment that I believe suited us both. I was expecting a difficult conversation but was pleasantly surprised. Thank you for great customer service. So refreshing.

Sent an email enquiring why my bills…

Sent an email enquiring why my bills were estimated when I have a smart meter, I got a reply the same day with a well advised explanation that my bill was issued on the 9th of the month and the meter was read on the 8th hence why I was being estimated. I could opt to have the meter submit on a daily or 30 minute basis. I have opted for 30 minutes to hopefully get a more accurate bill and in return hopefully save some money!!!

EV Saving based on driving the UK Average of 8000 miles, at an average of 4mi/kWh, and comparing the resulting 2000kWh of energy cost between OVO Drive and the average UK flat rate tariff available on 24/05/21. Average miles/kWh will vary depending on driving style and vehicle. Home saving based on UK Average home consumption of 3731kWh, and compared between OVO Drive and the average UK flat rate tariff available on 24/05/21.
  3. 100% of the renewable electricity we sell is backed by renewable certificates (Renewable Energy Guarantee of Origin certificates (REGOs)). See here for details on Renewable Energy Guarantee of Origin certificates and how these work. A proportion of the electricity we sell is also purchased directly from renewable generators in the UK.
    Each year, OVO plants 1 tree for every member in partnership with the Woodland Trust. Trees absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, so tree-planting helps to slow down climate change.
  4. Interest Rewards are paid on credit balances of customers paying by monthly Direct Debit. It is calculated at 3% in your first year, 4% in your second year and 5% in your third year (and every year thereafter) if you pay by Direct Debit. Interest Rewards are paid monthly based on the number of days you’re in credit and the amount left in your account after you’ve paid your bill. Interest Rewards are only paid on balances up to £1,000 any amounts over this will not qualify. Full terms apply.
  5. By switching to OVO Energy you could reduce your carbon footprint by up to 1 tonne of carbon per year. This is based on the carbon emissions caused in the production and consumption of the 100% renewable electricity OVO provides as standard, compared to the emissions caused by the production and consumption of UK grid average electricity. Average UK household energy consumption figures were sourced from BEIS (2019). The carbon emissions factors were calculated by the Carbon Trust.
  6. An independent study has shown that installing and correctly using a tadoº Smart Thermostat can reduce your energy use from heating by up to 31%. The study found that the tadoº device can reduce heating energy requirements by 14-26% through controlling the heat source (e.g. boiler or heat pump). You could also save another 7% by turning down the heating based on the weather forecast, depending on the window sizes. If the window surfaces are relatively large, the energy saving will increase.
  7. The offer is for ‘5,000 Free Green Miles’, for customers who sign up to the OVO Drive energy plan. This will be delivered via a £15 credit being applied to your OVO Energy account each month for the first 12 months of your contract, up to a maximum total credit of £180. £180 credit equates to 5,000 free miles of electric driving for customers charging on the OVO Drive plan. The £180 (£15 per month for 12 months) is a fixed amount and will not be adjusted over the course of the offer period. A 2020 MINI Electric has an efficiency of 4.0 miles/kWh as per WLTP testing. Find out more about WLTP here(opens in new window). 5,000 miles equates to 1250kWh of energy. £180 can purchase 1250kWh of energy using an assumed electricity unit rate of 15.8p/kWh, the average of regional prices on the OVO Drive Plan, as of 03/06/2021.
