1 Year Fixed + Complete Cover Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions (Terms) apply if you’ve chosen, and we’ve agreed to supply you, on our 1 Year Fixed + Complete Cover plan.
These Terms are in addition to, and do not replace, our Core Energy Supply Terms and Conditions https://www.ovoenergy.com/terms (Core Terms).
Your Complete Cover is governed by the OVO Home Services Cover Terms and Conditions booklet (“Home Services Cover Terms”), which contains full details of eligibility, exclusions, cancellation rights and claims conditions and is available at https://homeservices.ovoenergy.com/terms
In the event of any conflict between these Terms, the Core Terms or the Home Services Cover Terms, the Core Terms will take precedence unless stated otherwise.
Defined terms used in these Terms have the same meaning as in the Core Terms unless stated otherwise.
1. Your Contract
Your 1 Year Fixed + Complete Cover energy supply and your OVO Energy Complete Cover are provided to you under two separate contracts:
1. A 1 Year Fixed energy supply contract; and a
2. Complete Boiler Cover insurance contract
Your energy supply is covered by the Core Terms and these Terms.
Your Complete Cover is governed by the Home Services Cover Terms.
Your energy supply
Your energy supply for 1 Year Fix + Complete Cover is provided by OVO Electricity Ltd (when we’re selling you electricity) and OVO Gas Ltd (when we’re selling you gas). Our address is Floor 5, Crescent, Temple Back, Redcliffe, United Kingdom, BS1 6EZ. These are the companies that supply energy to your property.
Your Complete Cover
Your OVO Energy Complete Cover is arranged and administered by OVO Energy, OVO is a trading name of OVO Home Services Ltd, a firm authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority under firm reference number 824122 to carry on insurance distribution. OVO Home Services Ltd is registered in Scotland (Company No. SC358475). Registered Office: Cadworks, 41 West Campbell Street, Glasgow, G2 6SE.
The insurance policy is underwritten by OVO Insurance Services Ltd, a firm authorised and regulated by the Guernsey Financial Services Commission under reference number 2570126. OVO Insurance Services Ltd is registered in the Bailiwick of Guernsey under the Companies (Guernsey) Law 2008 (Company No. 67013). Registered office: PO Box 155, Mill Court, La Charroterie, St Peter Port, Guernsey, GY1 4ET.
2. What is 1 Year Fixed + Complete Cover
1 Year Fixed + Complete Cover is a bundle which includes OVO’s 1 Year Fixed energy tariff with Complete Boiler Cover included free for the first 12 months from the start date of your Complete Cover policy.
Complete Cover includes an annual boiler service, boiler and central heating cover, plumbing and drains cover, and electrical cover. Claims made under the Complete Cover policy are subject to a £95 excess. Full details of the excess amount and when it applies are set out in the Complete Boiler Cover policy terms.
Complete Cover is included at no additional cost for the first 12 months when you take the 1 Year Fixed and Complete bundle. You won’t be able to make a claim on your Complete Cover for the first 30 days from the start date of your OVO Complete boiler cover policy.
Once your Complete Cover policy has started, you’ll have a cooling-off period during which you can cancel the policy. Details of the cooling-off timeframe, how to cancel, and any charges that may apply are as set out in the Home Services Cover Terms
3. Eligibility
3.1 In order to be eligible for 1 Year Fixed + Complete Cover you must:
Be an existing OVO dual fuel customer and pay for your energy supply by monthly Direct Debit;
Agree to provide bank details for Complete Cover at sign up, and to pay for Complete Cover by monthly direct debit only after the free period has ended.
Have both contracts for 1 Year Fixed + Complete Cover energy supply and the Complete Cover in the name(s) of the same account holder(s) and for the same address;
Meet the main eligibility requirements for Complete Cover, including that:
you must own and live in the property
the property must be located in mainland UK
your boiler must be a mains gas domestic boiler that meets the age, condition and serviceability requirements set out in the Home Services Cover Terms
cover isn’t available to landlords or tenants
Full eligibility criteria will be assessed during your online application and are set out in the Home Services Cover Terms.
Be aware that if you are not eligible, no cash or alternative offer applies.
Sign up to 1 Year Fixed + Complete Cover via our online digital journey only.
Have smart meter(s) or be willing to have them installed.
3.2 If you currently have any OVO Boiler Cover product, you may still be eligible for 1 Year Fixed + Complete Cover. However eligibility will depend on the type of cover you hold and whether your property and boiler meet the requirements set out in the Home Services Cover Terms.
You may need to amend or cancel your existing Boiler Cover policy before signing up. Cancellation charges may apply in line with the terms of your existing policy.
3.3 You must apply for both the 1 Year Fixed tariff and Complete Cover in one application in order to get the Complete Cover discounted rate. If you apply for OVO’s 1 Year Fixed tariff and then add Complete Cover separately later on (or vice versa), you won’t be eligible.
4. About 1 Year Fixed + Complete Cover
4.1 In order to be eligible for 1 Year Fixed + Complete Cover you must successfully complete the sign up process for both 1 Year Fixed + Complete Cover energy supply and Complete Cover. If you become ineligible for Complete Cover, or cancel your cover, you’ll no longer be eligible for the 1 Year Fixed + Complete Cover tariff. In this situation, we’ll move you onto our Standard Variable Tariff unless you choose another available tariff. 4.2 With your 1 Year Fixed + Complete Cover energy tariff, the price you pay for the supply of your electricity and/or gas will be fixed for a period of 12 months commencing on your Tariff Start Date. Your Tariff Start Date will be the date that your electricity and/or gas supply(ies) transfers to the 1 Year Fixed + Complete Cover plan from your existing OVO energy tariff. We will notify you of this date in your renewal letter. Your 1 Year Fixed energy tariff will end 12 months after your Tariff Start Date (Fixed Plan End Date).
4.3 Please note that your Fixed Plan End Date and your Complete Cover end date may not align depending on when your Complete Cover or energy plan starts from, meaning your Complete Cover may still be running when your fixed energy tariff ends or your fixed energy tariff may still be running when your Complete Cover ends.
4.4 Complete Cover will continue independently of your energy tariff unless you cancel it. We'll be in touch with your renewal offer for Complete Cover well before your contract ends. Renewal communications will be sent at least 14 days before renewal.
5. Smart meter
By signing up to 1 Year Fixed + Complete Cover you are agreeing to be contacted to arrange a suitable installation date for a Smart Meter to be installed in your property, if you do not already have one.
6. Payment
6.1 Separate Direct Debit instructions will be set up for your energy supply and your OVO Energy Complete Cover policy.
6.2 The Direct Debit details supplied will be used to renew the OVO Energy Complete Cover at the end of the 12 month term unless you have opted out of auto renew, or if the policy has been cancelled.
7. At the end of your 1 Year Fixed Energy Plan
7.1 Your 1 Year Fixed energy tariff will end 12 months after your Tariff Start Date on your Fixed Plan End Date. From this date, unless you have asked us to put you on a new energy plan:
we’ll automatically transfer you to the cheapest variable energy plan available for your meter type, estimated annual consumption and payment method; and
you might pay higher unit prices and standing charges on a variable energy plan and these could change at any time.
7.2 We will write to you no later than 30 days before your Fixed Plan End Date to remind you of this and advise you of our cheapest tariff at this time based on your meter type, estimated annual consumption and your chosen payment method.
7.3 If, within 20 working days of the end of your 1 Year Fixed Energy plan, you:
- decide to leave us and your new supplier notifies us that you’re switching and that switch takes place within a reasonable period; or
- you enter into a new energy plan with us;
then we’ll keep your charges the same until you switch to your new supplier or start your new energy plan.
At the end of your OVO Energy Complete Cover
7.4 We will write to you at least 14 days before your OVO Energy Complete Cover contract is due for renewal. Your OVO Energy Complete Cover product will renew automatically, unless you have opted out of auto renewal, and premiums will be collected using the Direct Debit details that you give us when buying this tariff.
8. Ending your Plan Early
Your energy plan
8.1 If you change your supplier or tariff for electricity or gas, or both, before the Fixed Plan End Date, we may apply an exit fee of £50 for each fuel (Early Exit Fee). See clause 10.4 of the Core Terms for more information on when this Early Exit Fee may be charged.
8.2 You agree to pay any such Early Exit Fee and agree to us taking this fee by Direct Debit.
8.3 If you cancel your 1 Year Fixed + Complete Cover energy plan before the end of the fixed term, your OVO Energy Complete Cover will continue for the remainder of the 12-month free period unless you choose to cancel it separately.
Your Complete Cover
8.4 If you cancel your OVO Energy Complete Cover at any time during the fixed term, including during any free cover period, you will no longer be eligible for the 1 Year Fixed + Complete Cover plan. We will move you onto our Standard Variable Tariff, which may mean you pay more for your energy, unless you choose another available tariff.8.5 If you want to cancel your OVO Energy Complete Cover please contact OVO Energy:

Complete Cover is included at no additional monthly cost for the first 12 months when taken with the 1 Year Fixed tariff.
If you cancel the cover during this period, no cancellation charges will apply.
Changes in your circumstances
8.6 If you move home during your 12 month 1 Year Fixed + Complete Cover term, your OVO Energy Complete Cover plan will end, even if you continue to be an OVO customer at your new property.
8.7 You must tell us if you move home, replace your boiler or no longer require Complete Cover.
This is because your eligibility for Complete Cover may change. Full details of how changes to your circumstances affect your cover are set out in the Home Services Cover Terms.
When we can terminate your Plan
8.8 We can terminate your 1 Year Fixed + Complete Cover Plan with immediate effect if you are in breach of these Terms, the Core Terms or your Complete Cover Terms or otherwise if we have the right to do so under these Terms or the Core Terms.
9. Other information
9.1 OVO Energy Complete Cover and 1 Year Fixed energy supply are available separately (but the Complete Cover plan is not available at the same discounted rate).
9.2 This tariff is subject to availability. We reserve the right to refuse or withdraw the bundle at any time.
9.3 We reserve the right to make changes to these Terms at any time. If we make any changes which are to your detriment we will give you reasonable notice so that you can take action to avoid the change.
9.4 These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales if your property is in England or Wales, and the laws of Scotland if your property is in Scotland.
