OVO Drive Terms & Conditions

These OVO Drive terms and conditions (Terms) are between you and us:
(a) You are the person who has subscribed to OVO Drive; and
(b) We, Us, Our or OVO is OVO Electricity Limited. Our address is 1 Rivergate, Temple Quay, Bristol BS1 6ED.
These terms and conditions are on top of, and do not replace, our Core Energy Supply Terms and Conditions (Core Terms).
In the event of any conflict between these terms and the Core Terms, these terms will take precedence.
1. OVO Drive
OVO Drive is a 1 year fixed term energy plan especially designed for electric vehicle (EV) drivers.
2. Eligibility
2.1 OVO Drive is only available for members who meet certain criteria. In order to take up, and remain on our OVO Drive plan you must meet each of the following eligibility criteria (Eligibility Criteria):
(a) You must own or lease an EV or a PHEV (plug in hybrid electric vehicle).
We reserve the right to ask for proof of ownership. This may include sending us a V5C registration document or any other form of validation that we reasonably request.
(b) You must be on supply with OVO for both gas and electricity. OVO Drive is available as a dual fuel tariff only.
(c) You must not have direct electric heating or storage heating as the main source of heat for your home. If you have a heat pump you are still eligible for the plan if you are on the OVO Drive Energy Plan for gas as well as electricity.
(d) You must pay your bills with us by Direct Debit.
2.2 If, at any time you fail to meet or continue to meet the Eligibility Criteria, including without limitation where you fail to provide us with sufficient evidence that you are the registered keeper of the vehicle or sufficient evidence of your main method of home heating then we reserve the right to terminate your OVO Drive plan and place you onto our cheapest standard variable plan for your meter type and payment method.
3. Energy Charges
3.1 Your energy charges will be fixed for a period of 12 months from your plan start date. Your plan start date will be the date your electricity and/or gas supply(ies) transfers from your previous supplier(s) to us. Where both your electricity and gas supplies are being transferred, then the plan start date will be the later of the two transfer dates.
3.2 Your energy charges will be on a single standing charge and unit rate basis (or two unit rate basis for metered economy 7 electricity) and will be based on our prices for your area, meter type and the payment method that you opted for (and may change if you change area, meter type or payment method).
3.3 You agree to pay VAT and any other taxes or duties at the applicable rate. We’ll also charge you any amount that we have to include on your bill (for example, if the government sets up a scheme for members to pay for energy-efficiency measures through energy bills).
4. How long will my plan last?
Your OVO Drive plan will end 12 months from your plan start date (Fixed End Date). If you decide to switch to another supplier or switch to a different tariff before your Fixed End Date you may have to pay an Early Exit Fee (see Section 5 below).
5. Early Exit Fee
If you change your supplier or plan for electricity or gas, or both, before the Fixed End Date, we may apply a termination fee of £30 in respect of each fuel (Early Exit Fee). You agree to pay any such Early Exit Fee and agree to us taking this fee by Direct Debit.
6. Moving House
If you move house before your Fixed End Date, you just need to let us know, your plan will be terminated and you won’t be charged an Early Exit Fee.
7. End of your OVO Drive Plan
7.1 At the end of your fixed term plan you will have the choice to sign up for a range of our other energy plans. If we are still offering the OVO Drive Plan you will be given the opportunity to renew this plan.
7.2 If your OVO Drive plan ends and you haven’t asked us for a new energy plan:
- we’ll automatically transfer you to the cheapest variable energy plan available for your meter type and payment method; and
- you might pay higher unit prices and standing charges on a variable energy plan and these could change at any time
7.3 If within 20 working days of the end of your OVO Drive plan you:
- decide to leave us and your new supplier notifies us that you’re switching and that switch takes place within a reasonable period; or
- you enter into a new energy plan with us
then we’ll keep your charges the same until you switch to your new supplier or start your new energy plan.
8. Other things you should know
Changes to the OVO Drive plan
8.1 This plan is subject to availability. We reserve the right to refuse, make changes to or withdraw the OVO Drive plan at any time.
Changes to these Terms
8.2 We may change these Terms at any time in line with our Core Terms. If we make changes to these Terms that are disadvantageous to you, we'll give you notice in advance (leaving you reasonable time to avoid the changes by cancelling your plan (without paying an Early Exit Fee) should you wish to do so.
8.3 In addition to our rights under section 2.2, we also reserve the right to cancel OVO Drive and move you to our cheapest standard variable plan if at any time you are breach of these Terms.
8.4 These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales if your property is in England or Wales, and in Scotland if your property is in Scotland. If there is any dispute between us, it will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales if your property is in England or Wales, and by the courts of Scotland if your property is in Scotland.
