OVO’s Repay and Save Scheme Terms and Conditions
These are the terms and conditions (the Terms) for our Repay and Save Scheme (the Scheme). Please read these Terms carefully. These Terms are in addition to, and do not replace, our Core Energy Supply Terms and Conditions (Core Terms).
All defined terms in our Core Terms will have the same meaning when used in these Terms unless otherwise stated.
1. What is OVO’s Repay and Save Scheme?
1.1 Customers who meet a defined set of Eligibility Criteria (see section 3), will receive a monthly credit (the Credit) to their energy account, for a period of up to 6 months, when they sign up for a Repayment Plan (see section 2).
2. How it works
2.1 When you sign up to a Repayment Plan (the Plan), together, we’ll agree on a fixed monthly payment amount. We’ll credit your energy account with 25% of your agreed Plan amount, for 6 months.
2.2 The Plan will need to be paid by Direct Debit. If your current energy supply is with OVO, your Direct Debit will also include your ongoing energy usage.
2.3 You’ll need to complete an assessment of your income and expenditure with our dedicated team, when you apply for the Scheme. This is to ensure a suitable and affordable monthly payment amount is agreed. Our dedicated team can also give advice on energy debt and talk you through more support that’s available.
2.4 The Credit amount will depend on individual circumstances and affordability and will be 25% of your Plan payments. We’ll confirm the Credit amount when you set up your Plan.
2.5 When you successfully make your agreed monthly payment, OVO will contribute by applying a Credit directly to your energy account.
2.6 The Credit will show as “Repayment Plan Credit” on your bills or communications.
2.7 The Credit will be applied to your energy account typically within 30 calendar days of you successfully making your payment. There is no cash alternative.
2.8 The length of your Plan will be based on your individual circumstances and affordability.
2.9 At the end of the 6 months, we’ll stop applying the Credits and remove you from the Scheme. Your Plan will remain in place for as long as agreed. Your Direct Debit will remain active beyond the Scheme.
2.10 There’s no minimum repayment amount required to take part in this Scheme, but it’s important we understand your circumstances so we can provide you with the best support.
3. Who is eligible?
3.1 The Scheme is only available to customers who meet each of the following eligibility criteria (Eligibility Criteria).
You need to be an existing OVO customer with up to date meter readings
You’ll need to complete an assessment of your income and expenditure so we can assess your eligibility and suitability for the Scheme.
You’ll need to have a credit meter. Customers with prepayment meters won’t be eligible
You agree to pay your Repayment Plan by Direct Debit. If you cancel your Direct Debit, request an Indemnity claim or don’t make the full agreed payment amount, we may withdraw the Credits and remove you from the Scheme.
You agree to comply with the Core Terms.
3.2 If at any time you fail to meet the Eligibility Criteria we reserve the right to remove the Credits paid to you, and you’ll no longer be able to participate in the Scheme.
4. The Scheme
4.1 Do I need to do anything to receive my Credits during the Scheme period?
You don’t need to do anything to activate the payment of the credits, your account will be automatically credited within 30 days of making your monthly payment, for 6 months.
4.2 I’m currently on supply with OVO, what happens with my ongoing energy charges?
If you are on supply with OVO, your Direct Debit will cover the cost of your ongoing energy usage (and your Repayment Plan whilst you’re on the Scheme). Your ongoing energy usage will be charged as normal and won’t be eligible for Credits through this Scheme.
4.3 What happens if I cancel my Direct Debit or raise a Direct Debit Indemnity during the Scheme period?
We may remove you from the Scheme and reverse any Credit paid to you under the Scheme. Please contact us before cancelling your Direct Debit or raising an Indemnity.
4.4 What if I’m struggling to pay my agreed monthly payment?
If you find you’re having trouble keeping up with the payments, please get in touch with our team. Together, we can find a solution and tailor the Plan to what’s affordable for you. Please visit our financial support hub for more information. If you can’t pay your agreed Repayment Plan amount, we may remove you from the Scheme.
4.5 Will you request a different Direct Debit amount to what we agreed?
No, your Direct Debit amount will remain at the agreed amount for the duration of your Plan. The only time this would change is at your request.
4.6 What happens at the end of the Scheme?
At the end of the 6 months, we will stop applying the Credits and remove you from the Scheme. Your Plan will remain in place for as long as agreed.
4.7 What if I switch away from OVO Energy?
If you switch away from OVO Energy whilst participating in the Scheme, you’ll still remain a part of the Scheme. We may stop your switch until your debt is cleared, in accordance with our Core Terms. We reserve the right to review your participation in the Scheme.
4.8 What happens if I move home during the Scheme?
If you move home whilst participating in the Scheme, you’ll remain in the Scheme. Your Plan and Direct Debit will remain in place.
5. Changes to the Scheme or these Terms
5.1 This Scheme is subject to availability and we reserve the right to make changes to the Scheme and these Terms at any time, including amending or withdrawing the Credit value.
5.2 We reserve the right to withdraw or amend the Scheme at any time.
