How do I log into My OVO account online?

My OVO is the place to take control of your account online. To log in for the first time, visit My OVO and follow the prompts. Or read on for a full guide.

Want to check your statement or balance? Change your account settings? Give a meter reading? Visit My OVO. It’s our online account management portal, designed to help you: 

  • See how your switch is progressing if you’ve just joined us 
  • Give your meter readings 
  • Set up meter reading reminders  
  • Check your statements and see how much energy you’re using 
  • Manage your Direct Debit, if you pay monthly 
  • Change your My OVO login details 
  • Change or update your email address and contact details

So now you know what My OVO can do, let’s get logged in for the first time, you can do this using your My OVO ID or email address. To find your My OVO ID, you'll need to do a quick email search, and find an old OVO email. We send them from ''. Once you’ve found one, look at the top - there’s your My OVO ID number. You can also find this at the top of your statements.

Step 1: Get to My OVO

You can also log in from the OVO homepage – take a look in the top right corner for the button that says ‘My OVO’.

Step 2: Set up a password

Look underneath the big 'Log in' button. Find the link that says ‘Set a new password’, and click it.

Step 3: Add your details

  • Add your My OVO ID 
  • Add the email you used to sign up with   
  • Then hit ‘Reset password’  

Tip: Make sure you’ve picked the 'PAYG option' if you’re a prepayment customer.

Step 4: Check your email

Next we’ll send you an email with a link to set your password – open it, create your password, and you’re in.

The email is from '' – and the subject line will be 'Choose your OVO password'.

It’s important that you set your password within 30 minutes, or the link will expire.  

If you don’t receive an email straight away, it’s worth checking your ‘spam’ folder. If you’re a gmail user, it may also be filtered into your ‘promotions’ folder.

If it’s not there, try again. And if that doesn’t work, give us a call on 0800 5999 440 so we can get you logged in from OVO HQ.

Step 5: Log in whenever you like

That’s it. You’ve got access to My OVO. It’s easy to use wherever you are, on your computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone – though our iOS and Android apps might be handy too.  

Once you’re in, you can use My OVO to submit your meter readings and check the details of your OVO account.
