Can I have a statement of my usage and top-ups?

If you want a statement we’ll always do our best to put one together for you.

Can I have a statement showing all the gas or electricity I’ve used, and the top-ups I’ve made, since I’ve been with OVO?

Yes of course – we know that sometimes you might need a utility statement to show prospective landlords, or to prove your identity, and we’ll always do our best to help. 

Please tell us exactly what you need and why you need it

Before we start, we’ll ask you to let us know why you need the statement and what specific information you’d like it to include, to make sure we’re putting together the right data for you. 

For example, if you want the statement so you can compare us with another energy supplier, we can provide your Estimated Annual Consumption (EAC) or Annual Quantity (AQ) figures, which are easier and more useful for comparisons. 

Electricity statements

It can take around eight weeks for us to get back to you with a completely up-to-date electricity statement, as we have to compile it by manually listing each individual top-up and identifying all your meter readings. 

If you need it urgently because you’re claiming benefits or proving residence, let us know and we’ll do our best to get it to you sooner.

Gas statements

Gas statements are more difficult, and can take longer, as the information we can use for reference is very limited. We only have access to two meter readings – the one from your most recent top-up, and the opening meter reading we received when you switched to OVO (this was provided by your old supplier). This makes it difficult for us to give you a completely accurate statement showing how much gas you’ve used. 

We may have to use your Annual Quantity (AQ) to help us work out how much gas you’re likely to be using each year. This is an energy industry standard term for an estimate of your annual gas consumption. It’s based on various pieces of information, including figures for the gas used in your home in the past and data about the weather in your area.

How do I request a statement?

To let us know you need a statement, just email us on payg@ovoenergy.com, or call us on either 0800 358 3523 or our landline number 0117 370 1041. We’re around from 8am until 8pm Monday to Friday, and 9am - 5pm on Saturdays.

In your email, remember to let us know what you’re going to use the statement for, and tell us about any specific information you need us to include.
