Tariff Information Labels (or TILs) were introduced by Ofgem in 2014 to make sure you’ve got everything you need to understand the plan you’re on.
They’re also designed to help you compare prices from different suppliers so you can see if you’re on the right plan for you.
The Tariff Information Label is created with what’s called a Tariff Comparison Rate. You can find out more about them here, but it’s been worked out to include all charges an energy supply applies so you can compare ‘like for like’ between different energy companies.
