Can I use the Smart Gateway* to view my data when I’m not home?

Yes, you can view your data in My OVO whenever your device is connected to the internet.

*We offered Smart Gateways to our energy customers from 23rd April to 7th September 2015, but this offer is no longer available.

If you're using a mobile, it won't look perfect yet as it's not optimised for that device - but it will be very soon.

Is my Gateway and the data it sends secure?

Absolutely. Keeping your data secure is extremely important to us. 

We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol during the transfer of any data to encrypt communications between your Smart Gateway and our web server. 

Will my data be shared with anyone other than OVO?  

We promise we will never sell your personal data. We won’t use or share it except when necessary for you to make the best use of this product, and we will make sure we and any closely chosen partners look after your data in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. We also promise to only use or share any personal data in accordance with the Ovo Privacy Policy

 

Where can I see my live usage data?  

It’ll all be waiting for you in My OVO – log in and click the ‘My Usage’ tab on the left hand side of the page. If you’re logging in for the first time, this page will be blank. Don’t worry, though. You just need to give it a day or so to collect data from your Smart meter.
