I’ve had a smart meter fitted – what’s next?

As soon as you’ve had a smart meter fitted, it starts working. So it’s already clocking your energy and you don’t need to send us any more meter readings.

You can now use your In-Home Display (IHD) to keep an eye on your daily, weekly or monthly energy use. You can view the cost, kilowatt hours and carbon emissions.

Our technician will give you an IHD when your smart meter’s fitted. They’ll talk you through it, showing you all the figures it displays and explaining how you can use it to monitor the amount of energy you’re using.

They’ll also explain how to use the keyboard and screen on your smart meter to take meter readings if you wish. Remember, you no longer have to send them on to us.
