Charge Anytime - Monthly Plans Referral Competition

These are the terms and conditions (the Terms) for our Charge Anytime Monthly Plans Referral Offer (the “Offer”). Please read these Terms carefully. These Terms are in addition to, and do not replace, our Core Energy Supply Terms and Conditions (Core Terms), Charge Anytime Terms and Conditions (Charge Anytime Terms), and the OVO Charge App Terms and Conditions (OVO Charge App Terms).

All defined terms in our Core Terms, Charge Anytime terms, and OVO Charge app Terms will have the same meaning when used in these Terms unless otherwise stated.

1. About this Referral Offer

1.1 The ‘Charge Anytime Monthly Plans Referral Offer’ (the “Offer”) is our way of rewarding OVO Charge Anytime customers (Referrers) for introducing their friends and family to OVO and our new Charge Anytime Monthly Plans. Referrers who successfully refer a prospective customer (Referees) will be in with the chance of winning a voucher to redeem at a selection of retailers up to a value of £500. Full details of the prizes available are outlined in these terms.

2. How it works

2.1 When you successfully refer a friend or family member to OVO using the form provided you (the Referrer) will be entered into a prize draw to win the below vouchers:

  • 3 prize vouchers worth £500 each

  • 5 prize vouchers worth £250 each

  • 22 prize vouchers worth £100 each

  • 170 prize vouchers worth £30 each

If you are a successful referrer and eligible to redeem a prize you will receive an email from Giftcloud with your voucher. Vouchers will be available to redeem at a selection of retailers including:

  • John Lewis

  • M&S

  • National Trust

  • National Garden centre

  • Tesco 

2.2 Each valid referral is one entry into the prize draw. You may enter the prize draw as many times as you like. 200 successful referrers will be picked by a randomised computer process.

2.3 When the referrer enters the prize draw and submits the form they may then pass their email address on to friends and family as part of the referral process. When a friend or family member receives the referrer's email address (the Referee) they may then go on to enter the prize draw themselves by completing the form. When completing the form the referee must include the referrers email address they have been provided with. This is so we can validate the number of successful referrals for each referer. A valid referral is defined as a referrer whereby a friend or family member (the Referee) has gone on to complete the form and entered the referrer's correct email address. Once the Referee has submitted the form and opted into data sharing with OVO they will receive an email with details of the offer and may become a referrer by entering the prize draw through referring friends and family following the above process.

2.4 Any successful referrer will only be able to claim a competition prize once. If you are successful any other outstanding valid referrals you have submitted will no longer be eligible and you will be removed from the prize draw.

2.5 A valid referral is defined as a referrer whereby their referee has gone on to complete the referral form and entered the referrer’s email address their referrer has provided them with. The email will be validated to ensure it is linked to an existing referrer.

2.6 The offer will be available from 24 September and run until 30 November (the “Offer period”). All valid referrals must be completed within the offer period.

2.7 The prize draw will take place on the 5 December and successful referrers will be notified of the outcome by the 12 December. Any referrals post the offer period end date will not be counted towards the referrers number of referrals.

2.8 Any successful referrers who win a prize voucher must already be with OVO or be willing to switch to OVO and sign up to Charge Anytime in order to redeem the prize.

2.9 If you are a successful referrer and eligible to redeem the prize vouchers, the voucher will be sent to the email linked to your OVO account within 30 days of signing up to your chosen Charge Anytime Monthly plan.

2.10 By submitting the form as either a referrer or referee you’re agreeing to OVO’s Privacy Policy and consent to be contacted by email about Charge Anytime Monthly Plans and the outcome of the offer. You can opt out at any time by emailing [email protected].

3. Eligibility

3.1 This Offer is only open to you if:

  • The referrer has received the email and signed up using the form provided;

  • The referrer and the referee agree to OVO's Privacy Policy and confirm all parties consent to be contacted by email

  • you sign up during the Offer Period;

3.2 If you do not meet the eligibility criteria in paragraph 3.1 above, you will not be eligible for the offer, but if you’re an OVO customer, your energy supply contract will be unaffected. See our Core Terms for your rights to cancel your energy supply contract should you wish to do so. Please note that exit fees may apply.

3.4 Eligibility for the Offer is at our discretion and we reserve the right to remove this if we believe that any customer is ineligible for any reason.

3.5 To be eligible to redeem competition prizes a successful referrer must be an OVO customer and signed up to Charge Anytime by 31 December 2025. If you are a successful referrer and have not signed up by this date you will no longer be eligible to receive a prize.

4. Data Protection and use of Personal Information 

4.1 When you take part in this referral competition, we will collect the following personal data (as applicable):

  • Your name

  • Your email address 

  • Your referrers email address (if applicable)

  • Your OVO account number (if applicable)

4.2 We rely on our legitimate interests to collect and use this data to:

  • Validate referrals and determine eligibility for the the prize draw

  • To contact winning customers to inform them of the outcome of the competition

4.3 Your data will be stored securely and will only be used for the purposes listed above. It will not be shared with any third parties outside of the OVO group.

4.4 Your personal data will be deleted once all prize redemptions are completed and are no longer necessary.

5. Other 

5.1 If you want to switch to a different supplier or cancel Charge Anytime, you will no longer be eligible to claim the Offer and you may need to pay any exit fees associated with your plan. See our Core Terms for your rights to cancel your energy supply contract.

5.2 We reserve the right to remove or temporarily suspend the Offer if, in our reasonable opinion, we suspect any breach of these rules, the Charge Anytime terms or our Core Terms. 

5.3 If we deem in our discretion that a participant is ineligible for any reason, we reserve the right to cancel or recover any credit already awarded.

5.4 We reserve the right to amend these Terms on reasonable notice. Any amendments will be published on OVO's website.

5.5 We reserve the right to withdraw or amend the Offer to new participants at any point.

5.6 In the event that for reasons beyond our reasonable control we are unable to award the offer, or we deem it appropriate to do so (in its reasonable discretion), we reserve the right to award an alternative of a similar nature and an equivalent value, or at our sole discretion, the cash value of the offer.

5.7 These Terms are subject to English Law and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England unless you’re a resident of Scotland, in which case you may also bring proceedings in Scotland
