When your order is confirmed, switch to OVO on any energy plan – if you’re not with us already.
Once you’ve got your vehicle, add Charge Anytime to your energy plan – it’s free. Find this in the offers section of your online account. Then you’ll just need to fill out this form, to get your offer.
After you’re all set up, we’ll add £140 credit to your energy account. That’s the same as 8,000 miles of free driving. You’ll see it appear on your next bill.

The 8,000 free miles are based on driving 4 miles per kWh, which equates to 2,000 free kWh's. Our Charge Anytime rate is 7p per kWh when smart charging, which calculates to £140 free credit. Individual costs will vary based on your vehicle efficiency, driving style and weather conditions.
We'll give you these free miles by adding £140 credit to your OVO account on your bill after you have successfully added Charge Anytime to your plan.
For your energy supply and online account to be fully set up, it can take 4 to 6 weeks – but it could be quicker than that. As soon as you’re ready to go, head over to the offers section on your online account and select Charge Anytime.
Yes and we can install your charger at home.
Smart charging is when you charge your electric car at home with a smart charger. The smart bit comes from our intelligent tech. It makes sure your vehicle is charged when the grid is greenest, within the time you need it charged by. You set this time through the app.
Our smart tech aims to charge your car when the grid has more renewable energy in it, within the time you’ve set. Meaning it’s less likely your EV will be charged by energy from fossil fuels.
Smart charging with Charge Anytime unlocks the cheaper charging rate of 7p. It helps move the UK energy system towards a smarter, greener way of using energy. If more people use energy when the grid is greener, the country can rely less on fossil fuels at peak times.
At the end of the month, we work out how much energy you've used to smart charge your car. We'll use this info to credit your energy account in the first week of the following month. So that your smart charging rate reflects our 7p per kWh rate.
For example:
The Charge Anytime rate is 7p per kWh. And let’s stay your standard electricity rate is 26p per kWh.
We’ll credit you 19p for each kWh you’ve used to smart charge your EV. To make your smart charging rate 7p.
This means if you use 100 kWh of energy smart charging your EV, you’ll get £19 in credit back on your bill.
Yes, you can – but you’ll need an Indra Smart Pro Charger. At the moment, that's the only way we can work out charging with solar panels. You can buy these chargers through OVO and we can install one for you.
This is because Charge Anytime only tells us how much electricity you’ve used from the grid. So if your home has solar panels it’s harder to work this out – some of the electricity might come from your solar panels and some from the grid.
But we are looking into how solar panels could work with Charge Anytime in the future. So if you’d like to take part in our research, please email [email protected]. We want to get Charge Anytime to as many people as possible.
If you leave OVO before you get the Charge Anytime credit, you won’t be able to receive the credit.
If you cancel your lease before you receive your vehicle, you won’t get the credit.
If you cancel your lease after receiving your vehicle, you’ll still get the credit. But only if you have the vehicle and Charge Anytime at the time you applied for the credit.

The contract for the lease of your electric vehicle (EV) will be between you and Select Car Leasing and OVO bears no liability whatsoever for the lease of the EV to you. Any purchase you make will be subject to Select Car Leasing's terms and conditions and eligibility criteria and is subject to status. 2 2p a mile claim is based on an EV customer driving the UK average of 7,000 miles at an average of 4 miles per kWh. The Charge Anytime add-on rate on 01/01/2024 is 7p per kWh. Actual sum per mile is 1.75p. Individual costs will vary based on your vehicle efficiency, driving style and weather conditions.
