If you’re not already a customer, you can still get a charger installed by us, but you’d need to switch to OVO to add on Charge Anytime (to any OVO energy plan). To get the Charge Anytime add-on, you'll need to have a compatible EV car and/or EV charger, a smart meter, and to download our app. You’ll also need to agree to your smart meter sharing half-hourly readings with us. Our smart tech aims to charge your car when the grid has more renewable energy in it, within the time you’ve set. Meaning it’s less likely your EV will be charged by energy from fossil fuels.
When you add Charge Anytime to your plan, your home energy rate will stay the same, but the energy consumed by your EV will be charged at an effective rate of 7p a kWh when EV smart charging (thanks to payment of your Charge Anytime charging credit).
