Rewarding Reads Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions (the “Terms”) apply to you if you participate in the Rewarding Reads promotion (the “Promotion”) these Terms are separate to OVO’s Core Terms which cover your supply of energy.
The promoter of the Promotion is OVO Energy Limited, incorporated in England and Wales under company number 06890795 and whose registered office is at OVO Energy, 1 Rivergate, Temple Quay, Bristol BS1 6ED (“OVO”, “we”).
1. About this Offer
Rewarding Reads is a targeted campaign that allows eligible customers to receive an entry into a guaranteed win prize draw. Customers who are invited to participate must provide a meter reading between 10 June - 10 July 2025 to be entered into the prize draw, customers can win prizes including up to a year’s free energy (valued at £2,000).
The prize draw will take place within 30 days of the Offer ending. You will receive a letter or an email to advise you of what prize you have won and this will be added to your account 30 days after the prize draw.
2. Eligibility
2.1 Rewarding Reads is only available to you if:
- You have received an invite as part of the Rewarding Reads campaign to provide a meter read.
2.2 Only one entry is allowed per household.
3. Prize Draw
3.1 After the Promotion ends, if you have provided a meter read you will automatically be entered into the prize draw.
3.2 The prize draw will be run within 30 days after the Offer ends.
3.3 The prize draw is done by a random computer process.
4. Prizes
4.1 You will be told of your prize by email or letter.
4.2 You can only win 1 prize. In each cohort there will be:
- 1 winner of a year’s free energy
- 5 winners of £50 energy credit
- Over 2,000 winners of £2 energy credit
4.3 The prizes will range from £2, £50 and a year's free energy credit valued at £2,000.
4.4 A year’s free energy is set at a maximum bill credit of £2,000. A year’s free energy is calculated in line with Ofgem’s average Energy Price Cap for January-March 2025 for customers paying by Direct Debit, which is worked out based on a 2-3 bedroom house, with 2 to 3 occupants using 11,500 kWh gas and 2,700 kWh electricity per year. Credit may not equal one year’s free energy if you are a higher than average user or if the price cap were to increase beyond current forecasts. We’ll pay it as energy bill credit in 12 monthly instalments. For example, if you win a year's free energy in January, the credit would be applied to your bill in February and each following month up to the last payment in January the following year.
4.5 If you leave OVO before your final credit payment, we won’t be able to make any remaining prize payments.
How is your prize paid?
4.6 If you win a £2 or £50 energy credit, your prize will be applied to your energy bill as a bill credit within 30 days of the prize draw being run. A year's free energy winner will get 12 monthly credits as stated in section 4.4.
4.7 There’s no cash alternative. If you pay by Direct Debit, the Direct Debit amount you pay per month won’t change. The energy credit will show as a separate line item on your bill. You won’t be able to withdraw the credit from your energy account to your bank account.
4.8 If your account has a negative balance, any credit paid will be used to pay off any outstanding money owed.
5. What if you leave OVO or move home?
5.1 You’re free to switch to another energy supplier at any time (unless there’s a debt on your account, in which case we may stop your switch until the money is paid). If you switch to another energy supplier at any point, if you leave throughout the campaign, you won't be eligible to receive an entry into the prize draw or any prizes won.
5.2 If you move home within the period of the rewarding reads, you will no longer be eligible for the Offer.
5.3 If you leave OVO before your credit is paid, you will not receive your credit.
6. Changes to the Offer or these Terms
6.1 We reserve the right to amend these Terms on reasonable notice. Updated terms can be found in the OVO App.
6.2 We reserve the right to withdraw or amend the Offer at any time. We will provide you with reasonable notice prior to any detrimental change to the Offer.
7. Ending these Terms
7.1 By participating in this Promotion you agree to comply with these Terms. We reserve the right to remove or temporarily suspend your access to the Offer if, in our reasonable opinion, we suspect any breach of these rules, the Charge Anytime Terms or our Core Terms.
7.2 If we deem that a participant is ineligible for any reason, we reserve the right to cancel or recover any credit already awarded.
8. General
8.1 In the event that for reasons beyond our reasonable control we are unable to award the credit, or we deem it appropriate to do so (in its reasonable discretion), we reserve the right to award an alternative of a similar nature and an equivalent value, or at our sole discretion, the cash value of a prize.
8.2 These Terms are subject to English Law and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England unless you’re a resident of Scotland, in which case you may also bring proceedings in Scotland.
