We’ll automatically add your credit to your energy account once your friend has been with us for 90 days. You’ll get an email as soon as it's added, so keep an eye on your inbox and your spam folder, just in case.
If your credit doesn’t arrive, it usually means your friend left before the 90 days were up or they didn’t use your unique referral link.

No, the credit can only be added to your energy account. It isn’t available as cash and can’t be transferred or withdrawn.

If your friend used your unique referral link and stayed with us for 90 days after their switch is complete, your credit will be added to your energy account automatically. If it’s been over 90 days and you haven’t received an email from us, please check your junk or spam folders.

As a referrer, you’re eligible for a reward if you are an existing OVO customer, and if your friend is a new customer with a credit meter and pays by monthly Direct Debit (customers with prepayment meters won’t be eligible). A new customer means your friend has not been an OVO energy customer within the last 3 months.
For you and your friend to receive the reward, your friend must have joined using the unique referral link to sign up and have set up a direct debit. If your friend signs up to OVO by other methods, or does not set up a direct debit, neither of you will be rewarded.
Credit is applied within 90 days of a successful referral and once your friend’s Direct Debit has been successfully taken in the first month.
You must only send the referral link to close friends and family. Please don’t spam.

Win a year’s free energy prize draw. A year’s free energy is calculated in line with Ofgem’s average Energy Price Cap for January-March 2025 for customers paying by Direct Debit, which is worked out based on a 2-3 bedroom house, with 2 to 3 occupants using 11,500 kWh gas and 2,700 kWh electricity per year. Credit may not equal one year’s free energy if you are a higher than average user or if the price cap were to increase beyond current forecasts. We’ll pay it as energy bill credit in 12 monthly instalments. For example, if you win a year's free energy in January, the credit would be applied to your bill in February and each following month up to the last payment in January the following year.
Solar panels offer. The free solar panels offer is only available to OVO customers who also have solar panels and a battery installed with OVO. Solar panels are redeemable as a discount worth up to £500 when customer buys OVO solar installation and battery package. Average sized house requires 10 solar panels. Panels may be accrued over a 2 year period and redeemed anytime with either the 2 year accrual period or the 3 years following. Subject to availability. Discount based on current hardware costs. 2,400 free miles offer. Earn up to 100 free EV miles a month over 2 years up to a maximum of 2,400 miles to redeem when you join Charge Anytime. Free miles can be redeemed at any time during the 2 year accrual period or within 3 years thereafter. Compatible EV/charger required for Charge Anytime.
